STAINLESS STEEL WIRE MESH

TYPE – 304:

  • Most commonly used and widely available of all stainless steels in the wire mesh industry.
  • Type – 304 displays a good oxidation resistance to a temperature of circa 870°C in intermittent heating to a temperature of 925°C in continuous heating.
  • This type usually has the most enticing price, with its excellent corrosion resistance.
  • It is virtually non-magnetic in the annealed condition.
  • UWP stocks one of the most expansive inventories in T-304 wire mesh, keeping in mind that when a particular opening size / mesh count or wire diameter / standard wire gauge is required then this type is selected by default.
    Applications for which T-304 wire mesh are used in filters, quarrying, food processing, automotive, refinery & oil field, scientific & laboratory use, other general industrial use.

TYPE – 316:

  • This type is second most widely available of stainless steels in the wire mesh industry.
  • T – 316 have a good oxidation resistance to temperature of 925°C in continuous heating.
  • T – 316 have a high resistance to corrosion in warm chloride environment (i.e. by salts, acids and seawater).
  • It is virtually non magnetic in the annealed condition.
  • This type is typically preferred as an alternative to T – 304 stainless steel wire mesh and considered in certain circs.
  • Applications for which T – 316 wire mesh are used in pharmaceuticals, aerospace, chemical processing, marine equipments, rubber & plastic industry, other general industrial use.
